This week my FAVORITE bloggers and real life couple from younghouselove.com are celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary. Sure, they have absolutely NO idea who I am or that I am helping them to celebrate but those are just some of the perks of having a
They inspire me in so many ways, not only with some kick-ass DIY projects but also with their incredible investment in their home, marriage and each other. Sadly, I cannot say DP shares my same love of all-things-home-decor, but I'm pretty sure I have enough love for the both of us.
Last week John and Sherry featured a shadow box filled with random items from their backyard wedding on 07/07/07. I immediately ran to Target (I can do that now--Nothin' but time!)and bought my very first Shadow Box for $9.99. Next, I went through my box of L-O-V-E and found a few items I wanted to display. C'mon, you know you have your own box-o-love at home.
Here is the finished product sitting on my desk

I took a $0.50 red and gold (the colors of my December wedding) scrapbook paper and mounted it as my background before securing my items using nothing but good old scotch tape.
In the top left corner is our Save The Date, with a crafty New York Skyline.
That little red square on top of it is a fabric sample from my bridesmaids' dresses.
The two tickets on the left side are the Atlantic City Bus Tickets DP and I used to go to NY the day he proposed.
There are a few pictures in the middle--a black and white from our wedding, a beach pic with our wedding date in the sand and a photo booth shot from the summer we spent engaged.
At the very top is a room key holder from our honeymoon suite in Mexico.
My most favorite item displayed in the box is the feather hairpiece I wore the day of our wedding.
DP bought the red rose hanging on the right side of the shadow box from a NY street vendor right after he proposed.
Some things are just too special to keep in a memory box stuffed in a closet somewhere. I think this is a great way to remember our wedding day each and every day of our marriage.
So totally cute! I love it! I'm a huge Target addict and I think I might just have to copy you! :)
