Friends, I am suffering from a serious set of raccoon eyes. It is most unfortunate. If you haven't already replaced your sunscreen from last year, please do so--TODAY.
Back to more interesting topics. So I told you I didn't have much luck on South Street, Philadelphia last weekend, but lucky for me there was a giant Marshalls on my way home that I made DP stop at, promising a 6 pack of Yuengling in exchange. Ah, good old
Originally I had been looking for two end tables for our living room. Then, I spotted this:

(DP taking this pic of me in the middle of the store caused him to up the ante to a 12 pack)
I thought about using this sweet console table behind my couch. This way I would still lose the space, but I would not have to cram TWO end tables into the living room. I figured it would help me to define the seating area by bringing the couch closer to the TV and other seating. I can't reveal my living room just yet as there is a slight problemo with this awesome find.

The wood is cracked. BUT-the price tag is right up my alley!

DP said he would do his best to try and repair it. Since the table is going behind our couch, I figure it doesn't have to be a profesh job. I worked out a little deal with Marshalls that if we couldn't repair it they would take it back and give me my sixty-five dollars. What did I have to lose? Perfect. DP always gets embarrassed when I wheel and deal. I don't really believe in paying full price--for anything. In this case, the table was already half price but I needed to see what else could be done for me, the paying customer buying damaged goods. Can't blame a girl for trying!
I'll let you know how it goes. And don't worry, I will make good on my 12 pack promise, but not before the table is fixed!
I love your blog. I myself rarely pay full price for things just because I know everything is marked up. I love that table, we are looking for one very similar to that style!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you :) Nothing wrong with a girl who likes a bargain! Let me know if you find what you guys are looking for and where you found it!
ReplyDeleteI'm the exact same. I don't believe in paying full price for anything either. Good job on scoring such a great deal! Love your dress, by the way.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I gave you an award - go check out my blog! :)
Love scoring deals at Marshalls! Good luck!
