I Have Nothing to Wear

I am infamous for recycling this phrase each and every time I get dressed, particularly when I have an event that calls for more than just my seasonal staples. Like most women in their late 20's, my walk-in closet is filled with an assortment of what I commonly refer to as "clothes I have already worn." You see, I have this problem where if I wear an article of clothing once, its novelty wears off and I am no longer thrilled by its original appeal. Sad, I know but I know many women who have this same condition. I have even shamelessly bought something new, worn it, and returned it--all for the thrill of something new! (Oh c'mon! Don't tell me you haven't done it!) I am trying to get help but I'm afraid there's no cure!

Whenever this happens, I try to compromise by pairing a new accessory with an old outfit. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it tends to be more cost-effective and satisfy my craving for the most part. When I lived downstairs from 3 girls it was easy to find something "new" to wear almost everyday. Now that I am a married women, I suppose it is time to retire the art of borrowing clothes. Is there an age-limit cut-off on that? I hope not.

Luckily, there ARE a few things I have not grown tired of. Here they are in no particular order.

My One and Only Designer Bag

DP surprised me with this absolutely fabulous bag on my 25th birthday. I'm pretty sure you will see me carrying it on my 50th, as well. I have not switched bags since he gave it to me! Sometimes I feel guilty carrying it if I'm in sweats because I feel like it's one of those bags you must look put-together while carrying it. I feel like sometimes I might do Louie and injustice but I do my best!

Sterling Silver Ball Earrings

No, they're not Tiffany. Best $19.95 I ever spent at Express. You will rarely see me wearing any other earrings. I just feel like they are so classic.

Black Pumps

I bought these pumps at Macys 3 years ago and they are still going strong! They are BCBG Very comfortable! I am lucky they survived Nikki's chewing-shoes phase! Whew!

The Engagement Ring

I had given as much thought as any 20-something women does to what I wanted my engagement ring to look like. I knew I wanted something a little more vintage-styled but really didn't know much else. One afternoon I was reading Chasing Harry Winston and happened to point out a ring I liked on the cover of the book. Little did I know DP would later take this book to a jeweler to have my ring custom-made! I have had it for over a year now and still love it as much as I did the day DP proposed!
