True Life: I worked at Isle 12

Hello Friends,

Although I do have some rather fabulous news to share, I guess, in a way, I have been avoiding writing this post. I first wanted to thank all of my loyal readers (thanks mom) for following me through what is sure to have been one of the most memorable journeys of my life: working at isle 12. But it appears as though this journey will be cut short on March 22nd. This is the day I will begin my new job teaching part-time basic skills math at a school three minutes from my new house (Yikes! Math!)

As you can imagine, the choice to go from full-time with benefits to part-time with zero benefits was a difficult one. AND for the first time in my life I had to make a decision that worked best for more than just me. Sure, our life is going to involve a lot more coupon-clipping and a lot less Starbucks. Nikki may even have to get a part-time job, but the bottom line is Hubby and I agree that I can no longer risk my health or my life to work in an unsafe environment, with no support from a very condescending administration (even if it does inspire one great blog!) I had to take this incredible opportunity.

My contract holds me to thirty days before I can begin my new job and it has been a struggle to keep this information from the kids. I'm not sure how I will tell them or how they will react. Even more so, it has been almost impossible to think that I won't be teaching with Jill or Colleen everyday. I feel like I am abandoning them.

As for isle12, I can't promise the daily events of my new surroundings will induce quite as fascinating stories, but I am hoping these new changes will bring a new adventure and a fabulous new twist on the blog. Future posts may not involve kids cursing at me or spray painting my car, but I can promise the same sarcasm and wit in every post!

I am hoping you will stay with me as I move onto my next adventure: a school with windows!
