Our Story

We first met at a “Sorority Family Day” event, where a young DP (My college roommate’s brother) sporting Abercrombie & Fitch was introduced to me, a carefree sorority girl. DP was later quoted as saying that “there were no hot girls” in his sister’s sorority. Well- perhaps he had overlooked his future wife that fateful day because two years later, we met again and this time – there were undeniable sparks between us!

On December 16, 2006 at Washington Lake Park, DP officially asked me to be his girlfriend at the Christmas tree on the Amphitheatre Stage. We shared many laughs, hopes and dreams over the next two years. I watched DP graduate from the Police Academy and gladly supported his dream by baking lots of cookies and brownies for the Police Department. He helped me move into my very first apartment on my own and willingly hung pictures and curtains, moved furniture and gladly informed me I was buying way too many decorative pillows.

DP realized in the summer of 2008 that he wanted to share the rest of his life with me and began planning for a romantic winter proposal. As we approached our two year anniversary, DP knew it would be almost impossible to surprise his impatient, inquisitive girlfriend and decided to rely on our good friends, Lindsay and Brian, to help set up a trip to New York City where he would surprise me and propose at the famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. On December 20, 2008, Dave got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We were surrounded by close friends who helped us to celebrate our engagement NYC style ‘till all hours of the night!

My Mom gave us a picture of the tree at our engagement party.

The BLING!
