This past week has been excitement level 10! I landed a full time teaching spot for next year, I celebrated my sister-in-law's bridal shower AND I was asked to be a bridesmaid in Kristen's wedding. (You may remember Kristen from my earlier blogging days. Her and I survived out first year of isle 12 together last year.) I am overwhelmed with anticipation just thinking about all of the momentous occasions coming up this September.
After hearing the news that I would be one of the lucky ones surviving the 2010 teacher massacre, I was able to relax and enjoy the jam-packed wedding weekend. On Saturday, with the help of four incredible girls, we hosted a "Love is Sweet" Bridal Shower for September Bride # 1. This theme was perfect for the bride who loves to bake.
Beginning with a "sweet" invitation, this was, by far, one of my most favorite bridal shower themes. Here is a picture of one of the tables.

The favors were heart-shaped cookie cutters attached to a recipe.

There were lots of bridal games with baking-themed prizes!

The center pieces were filled with pink and purple candies and surrounded by lollipops.

Here's me with the bride and another bridesmaid.

On Sunday Kristen, Jill and I headed to David's Bridal to pick out some bridesmaid dresses. I am looking forward to planning September Bride # 2's shower. Any theme ideas?
